Arsenal now want to sign ‘exciting’ £270,000-a-week star
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are interested in signing Timo Werner from Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to Defensa Central.
The report in the Spanish news outlet has claimed that Arsenal, Real Madrid and Juventus are competing with each other for the signature of Werner, who earns £270,000 per week (The Sun) at Chelsea.
Madrid are reportedly looking for a back-up striker to Karim Benzema, and Germany international forward Werner is one of the options the La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners are looking at.
WOULD CHELSEA’S TIMO WERNER MAKE ARSENAL BETTER?
In our view, Chelsea forward Timo Werner would not be a great signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window
We have seen that the forward is not great as a central striker, at least in the Premier League.
Werner – described as “exciting” by former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia on the club’s official website in June 2020 – has scored 10 goals and created 10 big chances in 56 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The 26-year-old is better off coming from out wide, but Arsenal already have players for that.
For example, Gabriel Martinelli.
Now, if Arsenal do want to sign a player to operate upfront, then they need someone who can play as a central striker.Click Here if you do not want to wait.
