The Belgian has been the subject of so much speculation this summer, but, as of yet, he’s not managed to find a new club as he enters the final year of his Leicester City contract.

Arsenal have been credited with the most interest so far, and while a move hasn’t come to fruition yet, Jacobs is led to believe that a deal could be done very quickly if Arsenal decide to make a bid.

WHAT’S BEEN SAID?

Jacobs spoke about Tielemans’ situation and Arsenal.

“With Tielemans the situation is the same. The player wants Arsenal and if Arsenal made a bid the deal will be done relatively quickly, but as of yet, Arsenal haven’t moved onto Tielemans and we all know that Zinchenko was the priority and that deal is now done,” Jacobs said.

“Tielemans has a big decision to make, he doesn’t want to stay at Leicester, that is my understanding of the situation and he’ll have further talks reiterating that this week.”

SHOULD THEY BID?

Arsenal could get Tielemans through the door quite quickly if they bid, but do they really need to sign him?

Well, their midfield could do with some work. After all, Granit Xhaka has never been the most consistent of performers in the Premier League, but, that is a gap that could be plugged by Oleksandr Zinchenko when his move is finally confirmed.

As of yet, we don’t know whether or not Arsenal plan to use Zinchenko as a midfielder or as a left-back, and perhaps the Gunners’ pursuit of Tielemans depends on that factor.

The Belgian would be a good addition to this team, but with Zinchenko set to sign, this may be a bit unnecessary at the moment.
