Kieran Tierney faces tough Arsenal battle as Gunners close in on Man City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Tierney has been first choice at the Emirates since outing Sead Kolasinac.
Kieran Tierney faces competition as Arsenal’s first choice left-back with the Gunners closing in on a move for Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Gunners want cover on the left-hand side and reportedly view Zinchenko, 25, as a prime option to challenge KT for his starting berth at the Emirates. The Athletic claim City are open to allowing the Ukrainian to leave should their valuation be met and that Arsenal would still, of course, have personal terms to agree upon before any deal was done. It would signal a change in dynamic for Tierney, also 25, who has thus far swatted away Cedric Soares as the other option at left-back for Arsenal.
Ironically Tierney has recently been linked with a mouth-watering £50million switch the other way to the Etihad as Pep Guardiola is a fan of the Scotland cap. We at Football Scotland exclusively told you, however, that the Citizens are likely to miss out on the former Celtic man as he will STAY in London.
Tierney played 34 times in all competitions last year amid some injury issues while Zinchenko – who has also been linked with a potential move to Everton under Frank Lampard – featured 36 times.
